Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel in the Calamianes rescued Sunday morning the crew and the passengers of a boat that sunk in the waters off Barangay Balala in Culion.

A police report sent to Palawan News by P/Socrates Faltado of the Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA identified the rescued crew as Mario delos Angeles, 47, the boat captain; Raymond delos Angeles, 32; and the passengers who are Adriana Marie Bellen, 16, and Jelson Cruda, who are residents of Brgy. Jardin, Culion.

It said the boat was on its way to Coron when the sea accident happened.

The report added the boat sunk due to sudden strong winds and heavy rains.

The boat, whose name was not stated in the report, was owned by a certain Joseph Casidsid.
