Creation of 3 provinces not dividing Palaweños

Board Member Juan Antonio Alvarez has defended the creation of three independent provinces against criticisms that it is dividing Palaweños.

Alvarez said the formation of three provinces intends to bring more government officials to take care of the needs of Palaweños, particularly those living in distant areas.

Alvarez said the ongoing information drive about Republic Act No. 11259 signed in April by President Rodrigo Duterte would enlighten the residents of the 23 municipalities about its intent to serve the people instead of dividing them.

The provincial government’s campaign for the ratification of RA 11259 is in full swing in various municipalities. Recently, the campaign was held in Taytay and El Nido. It will go next to the Calamianes islands group composed of Coron, Culion, Busuanga, and Linapacan.

“Kami, as much as possible best effort lang kami sa pagpapalaganap ng information.

He said that critics of the creation of three provinces must criticize the law itself and not the people behind it.
