Hostelworld, the world’s leading hostel-focused online booking platform and a leading brand for millennials and budget-conscious travelers, has included the island town of Coron in its “up-and-coming destinations for 2019.”
In a recent post by 9Travel, Hostelworld Group (HSW) suggested Coron as one of the top destinations that budget travelers can visit this year if they are in for “a closer encounter of nature and the local culture.”
Hostelworld said Coron, which has surged in popularity as being an alternative to the Philippines’ top tourist destination like Boracay, is “home to exceptional biodiversity that is unique to the island and its natural environment is rich in forests, coral reefs, and pristine beaches.”

The other suggested destinations are Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka; Ella, Sri Lanka; Labuan Bajo, Mexico; Holbox, Mexico; Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia; Unawatuna, Sri Lanka; Ha Giang, Vietnam; Beirut, Lebanon; Yasawa, Fiji, and Goreme, Turkey.
The online booking platform said its Top 11 up-and-coming destinations was revealed based on its “year-on-year increases in total bookings made from 2017-2018.”
Hostelworld is popular among travelers for sparking social experiences around the world.
