The Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDP) conducted a mangrove clean up in Brgy. Bancao Bancao over the weekend.

Lieutenant Commander Christian Jazmin, CGDP spokesperson, said the environment campaign is part of the Philippine Coast Guard’s (PCG) 51st-anniversary event in April.

“Part ito ng mga activity ng Coast Guard in which ‘yong marine environmental protection and at the same time kaya tayo may ganito ay dahil ngayong April ay ating founding anniversary, wala pang exact date but tentatively mga last week na,” he said.

Jazmin said they will also hold a sports fest, medical and dental mission.

More than 100 individuals participated in the cleanup activity, including representatives from the private sector and Coast Guard Auxillary.

The CG Auxillary is a volunteer organization attached to the regular Coast Guard unit.
