City water firm begins WSIP Phase II construction

The materials are ready and work has commenced.

The city water district has started the construction of Phase II of the P700-million Lapu-Lapu and Montible rivers water project in Barangays Irawan and Iwahig.

Jenn Rausa, acting information officer of the Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) said Tuesday that they have already started laying the 900-millimeter (mm) transmission line for their Water System Improvement Project (WSIP) along the national road in the two barangays.

Rausa said the PPCWD started on October 26, around 1.2 kilometers from Resuma residence in Irawan to the gate of the Iwahig Corrections Facility (ICF).

The project was initially announced in 2014, but the memorandum of agreement with the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) only materialized in August this year.
