City preps for “biggest festival”

On Monday, Rizal Avenue will stage the most anticipated Grand Float Parade and Subaraw Street Dance Competition

November 11 is Puerto Princesa Underground River Day, more popularly known as PPUR Day, and it celebrates the day that PPUR was voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Puerto Princesa City is expected to come at a full stop on Monday (November 11) to pave way for the “biggest” festival in the city.

City administrator Atty. Arnel Pedrosa, on a Memorandum Circular 2019-48 issued Thursday, announced the suspension of national, provincial and city government agencies and offices; public and private primary and secondary schools; state universities; city courts; banking institutions; and other private establishments pursuant to Puerto Princesa Underground River Day famously known as Subaraw 2019.

Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) head Richard Ligad, in a press statement, said that law enforcement agencies will be deployed throughout the city on Monday as Rizal Avenue will stage the most anticipated Grand Float Parade and Subaraw Street Dance Competition.
