Young athletes, coaches, and Department of Education (DepEd) officials from all over Puerto Princesa City gathered on Wednesday at the Palawan National School (PNS) oval track for the opening of City Meet 2019.
The program kicked off with a parade starting from the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk up to the PNS sports ground, composed by delegations from different schools within the city.
PNS principal Dr. Eduardo Santos assured everyone that Task Force Palaro is on top of the game ensuring everyone’s safety during the competition.
“Marami po tayong ipinapatupad upang mas lalong maging maayos hanggang matapos itong athletic meet,” Santos said.
DepEd regional director Dr. Benjamin Paragas, vice mayor Nancy Socrates, and schools division superintendent Servillano “Bong” Arzaga also graced the ceremonial opening along with other key officials.
The games will be held from November 13 to 16 in Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex, PNS grounds, and other event venues in the city.
