A businessman in Narra survived a murder attempt carried out against him by another businessman on Sunday night outside a bar in Barangay Poblacion, Narra.
A police report from P/Col. Socrates Faltado, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA, identified the victim as 46-years old Marlo Balingit Malabuet of Brgy. Antipuluan in the same town.
The suspect, on the other hand, was identified as Alberto Flores Gonzaga, 47, also a resident of Brgy. Poblacion.
Based on the investigation by personnel of the Narra Municipal Police Station (MPS), the suspect chased Malabuet who was riding his motorcycle to go to Gimik bar on the night of August 4.
When the victim reached the place, Gonzaga reportedly shot him multiple times but he was able to run away.
The suspect, meanwhile, hid inside the compound of a certain Dado dela Fuente where he was later arrested by the police. Confiscated from him was a .45 pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition.
Faltado said Gonzaga shot Malabuet because of an old grudge.
