The municipal government of Bataraza is expanding the reach of its basic services in Baranga Rio Tuba with the expansion of its sub-office there to house the social, police, and fire protection services and a temporary evacuation center.

Municipal executive assistant II Lydia Gujilde said underway is the construction of a building that would accommodate the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), municipal PNP and Bureau of Fire Protection, and as space for evacuees.

She said after the construction, the sub-office will be able to perform more administrative and clerical functions from these offices.

Mayor Abraham Ibba, she said, wants the sub-office to offer more services to the residents of the surrounding villages in the Rio Tuba area.

“Itinayo ito para mabigyan ng immediate needs like birth certificates, mayor’s permits at transaction sa municipal treasury ang mga mamayan ng Bataraza para ‘yong mga nasa dulong bahagi ng munisipyo ay di na mahirapan” Gujile said.

She said this following the celebration of the first founding anniversary of the Rio Tuba sub-office that was attended by Bataraza vice mayor Ken Jaafar. The sub-office started operation on February 15, 2018.

Currently, the office hosts the treasury and survey offices, and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
