The Bataraza municipal government plans to develop Kapangyan Falls in Barangay Malihud into a premier  tourist destination in southern Palawan.

Mayor Abraham Ibba said facilities to provide comfort to guests will be constructed soon to complement its natural beauty.

Ibba said the concrete road leading to the waterfalls is nearly finished.

Additional facilities like comfort rooms and cottages will also be put up.

Kapangyan Falls, which has a natural pool that collects cascading crystal clear waters, can be reached through Malpot Road in Malihud.

It is  225 kilometers away from Puerto Princesa City and accessible via the southern Palawan national highway.

It is a 45-minute walk from the entrance of the trail from Malpot Road that winds through lush forest covers.

The main waterfall is around 20 to 25 meters in height with a moderate flow of cold water and two to four meters deep clear pool for those who love to swim.

Junaide Dawili, acting municipal tourism officer, said interested tourists can coordinate with the municipal tourism office so they will be provided with a guide.

Dawili also said the entrance is free.

What visitors need is transportation and to bring their own food.

Tourists seeking for adventure need to see the place because it is a one-of-a-kind outdoor adventure.
