Local government unit of Bataraza expresses confidence in complying with the order of Department of Interior Local Government on removing the road obstructions and for excellent result on the inspection

The municipality of Bataraza has claimed it has fully complied with the order of Department of the Interior Local Government (DILG) on the removal of obstructions in municipal and provincial roads.

Mayor Abraham Ibba said the municipal LGU of Brooke’s Point will join them in roaming around the town to evaluate the compliance of the LGU on Friday.

“Dito sa atin sa Bataraza, palagay ko, hundred percent na-comply natin lahat ‘yong order ng DILG. So far, ang affected natin na area na malaki-laki is Rio Tuba. ‘Yong other barangays, very minimal,” he said.

Ibba said that simultaneous inspection nationwide will be on Friday to check the compliance of every LGU. He said that they are praying for the result of the evaluation to turn excellent.

He added that the LGU had cleared the Macadam highway in Barangay Rio Tuba of stores and other structures that obstruct the sidewalk.

Ibba said the Sangguniang Bayan of Bataraza had passed an ordinance last August 8 to order the maintenance of clearing of road obstructions all year round to avoid it happening again.

“Ngayon mini-maintain natin kasi sa ibang bayan bumabalik. Inalis mo ngayon tapos babalik so dito sa atin mini-maintain. Bukas malalaman, makikita ng inspection team kung talagang na-maintain natin,” he said.

Results of the inspection must be submitted on or before its due date on October 5, Saturday.
