BATARAZA, Palawan — The municipal government here, the first to distribute the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) among all towns in the province, is aiming to complete the dispensation of cash aids to 6,157 qualified families by Thursday, April 16.
Assistant municipal information officer AJ Peria said that they have a downloaded SAP budget of P30,785,000 to distribute to 6,157 families that qualified out of 15,000 applications.
“Noong bumalik na yong masterlist nila, yong tatanggap lang ay 6,000 plus lang yong na-approve. Naka-15,000 kami na application na na-submit namin. Marami talaga ang hindi nakasali,” Peria said.
Bataraza LGU is the first town to distribute the SAP on April 11.
As of its April 13 record from the municipal treasury office, the LGU has already released P14,945,000 to 2,989 family-beneficiaries from 10 barangays.
“May pera na rin naman na i-download kaso that time ang Land Bank [of the Philippines]-Brooke’s Point ay hindi pa capable of withdrawals of that amount. Ang ginawa ni mayor [Abraham Ibba] ay nag-initiate na maghanap ng resources para ma-distribute early as possible,” she said.
Qualified beneficiaries will receive P5,000 cash each that will serve as financial aid to help families cope with the crisis in times of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
