The 3rd Marine Brigade (3MBde), in partnership with McDonald’s, distributed on Monday some 700 burgers to families displaced by the recent fire in Barangay Bagong Silang.
Captain Orchie Bobis, spokesperson of the 3rd Marine Brigade (3MBde) said the beef burger snacks from a local McDonald’s branch were provided to 110 families composed of 370 individuals.
The fire victims are temporarily sheltered at the Puerto Princesa Pilot Elementary School.

Since March, McDo and the 3MBde have been providing burger snacks and other meals to frontliners against COVID-19 in the city.
The relief effort is in partnership with Golden Arches Development Corporation (GADC), operator of the McDo fast food in Puerto Princesa.
On April 23, the families were left homeless after a fire burned through their homes along the coast of Bagong Silang.
According to the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Puerto Princesa City, most of the houses in the area were made of light materials which caused the fire to spread fast.
