The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Puerto Princesa City on Friday urged the public to take advantage of the early registration for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Barangay synchronized elections.
Ferdinand Bermejo, city elections officer told Palawan News that the first two days of August 1 to September 30 registration period became smooth.
“Sa mga kababayan natin huwag na nating hintayin ‘yong last day, last hour, or last minute upang maiwasan natin ‘yong siksikan, abala, at perwisyo. Kung minsan ang kalabas-labasan niyan, kapag last day, last hour, last minute, hindi ka na rin ma-accommodate dahil doon ka na sa huli. So hangga’t maari, agahan nilang pumunta,” Bermejo said.
He said they accommodate new applications for registration, transfer of registration records, reinstatement of name in the list of voters, change and correction of entries, and reactivation and inclusion of registration record.
Bermejo reminded applicants to bring their birth certificates and student identification card (ID) for new registrants; and any valid ID or document for other transactions such as employee ID, postal ID, senior citizen’s ID, driver’s license, TIN, NBI Clearance, passport, PRC ID, or PWD ID.
“Iyong ID nila, [and] birth certificate, i-photocopy na rin agad nila ‘yon bago sila pumunta. Kasi kukunin namin ang photocopy ng ID [and birth certificate] nila, i-a-attach namin ‘yon doon,” said
The City COMELEC office is located at the City Coliseum in Barangay San Pedro.
It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, inclusive of holiday.
“We will update the public where and when we will open satellite registration areas in the city,” he added.
