Authorities recover 30 pieces of Palawan Forest Turtle in Taytay town

The joint forces of the Provincial Law Enforcement Task Force, Bantay Palawan and Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Enforcement  have recovered 30 pieces of Palawan Forest turtle (bakoko) in Taytay, Palawan which were supposed to be exported out of the province.

 

 

Niño Estoya, Chief of Bantay Palawan Task Force, they conducted the operation in a secluded area of Sitio Batica, Barangay Pamantolon, Taytay where the said endangered species were hidden.

 

 

Bantay Palawan suspects that the people behind this illegal activity have also something to do with previous confiscated turtles being sold to some Chinese businessmen.

 

 

Despite the recovery of the turtles, authorities failed to capture the suspect behind this illegal operation.

 

 

The said wildlife  are subject for turn-over to city authorities for further investigation and disposition while chasing for suspect of this illegal act.
