AirSWIFT, the country’s leading boutique airline and a subsidiary of Ayala Land, Inc., has launched its new route connecting two of the most popular Philippine tourist destinations, El Nido in Palawan and Panglao in Bohol province.
It started operating its El Nido-Bohol-El Nido flights on Monday morning, March 25, 2019. The inaugural flight left mid-morning from the Lio Airport in El Nido, Palawan to Bohol and returned early afternoon.
AirSWIFT performed its maiden flight service from El Nido to Bohol using one of the four aircraft in its fleet, the 72-seater ATR72-600, a twin-engine turboprop short-haul regional aircraft.
The El Nido-Bohol-El Nido flights will be four-times-weekly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The flying time is approximately one hour and twenty minutes.
Alfonso Javier D. Reyes, AirSWIFT President and Chief Executive Officer, told Palawan News at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport that they are considering to perform additional flights once the travel demand gets higher.
“If the demand picks up, then we can easily make this into a daily flight. So far, the market from El Nido and Bohol is doing great. As you can see, even our maiden flight had a good head count of paying passengers. Hopefully, this will grow faster so we will be able to increase the frequency of our flights” said Reyes.
Reyes noted that they, at AirSWIFT, are “delighted to offer connections between the top tourism spots in the country.”
Reyes said AirSWIFT supports the government advocacy for environmental protection, preservation, and in ensuring the sustainability of its tourism sites in the midst of the booming tourism industry.
“We do our best to support the Department of Environment & Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG), and the Department of Tourism (DOT) in its efforts to improve sustainability in our tourism locations.” he said.
AirSWIFT’s mission is “to promote Philippine tourism by providing the safest, most reliable, and highest quality flight services and by focusing on creating the best possible end-to-end passenger experiences.”
