Agutaya suspends travel to NCR and COVID-19 affected provinces

Mayor Perla Bacuel of Agutaya imposed the temporary travel ban on the island as a precautionary measure against the spread in her town of the new coronavirus disease, she said.

Agutaya’s municipal government has imposed a month-long travel ban among residents planning to go to Manila, Mindoro provinces, Iloilo, and Cebu, following the national government’s suspension of the repatriation of stranded individuals and overseas workers.

Mayor Perla Bacuel of Agutaya imposed the temporary travel ban on the island as a precautionary measure against the spread in her town of the new coronavirus disease, she said.

She said the travel ban will be implemented in Agutaya in cooperation with the municipal IATF composed of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and barangay officials.

Bacuel called for public understanding regarding the situation.

She further said all returnees arriving in Agutaya will no longer be allowed to do home quarantine.

Emergency travel will be allowed which will be determined by the municipal health officer.

Any violation of the health protocols will be subjected to corresponding penalties in accordance with the Sangguniang Bayan ordinance.
