The airports in the island towns of Agutaya and Cagayancillo, Palawan will be completed by 2016, according to Engr. Saylito Purisima head of the I-HELP Infrastructure Program of the Palawan provincial government.
Purisima said the construction of the Agutaya airport which costs P12 million is now 20 percent completed while the one in Cagayancillo, which costs P5 million, is nearing completion.
He said that the construction is being fast tracked by the provincial government.
The construction of the airports in the island towns is part of the disaster preparedness program of the Capitol, he said adding that the new facilities will also boost local businesses.
