FA-50 fighter jets seen flying above city skies are part of the annual holding of the military’s “AJEX DAGIT-PA 03-2019” that should not be a cause of concern for residents, the Western Command (WESCOM) said Tuesday.
In a press statement, the WESCOM said AJEX DAGIT-PA stands for Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercise Dagat-Langit-Lupa”. It started in the city on September 16, 2019.
It is the third iteration of the exercise to achieve a better unit of command and capitalize on the synergy of military operations.

“Walang dapat ikabahala ang ating mga residente kasi may ongoing exercise lang ngayon dito,” Tactical Operations Wing West (TOW West) wing commander Brig. Gen. Rene Diaz said, on the other hand, in a phone call with Palawan News.
The WESCOM said frequent joint training exercises “are necessary to enhance personnel capacity and unit capabilities of combined forces to enable them to be readily deployable to address gaps in contingencies that can and will be implemented.
“This exercise will facilitate the integration of the major services of capabilities toward integrated operations in a joint training environment,” the WESCOM said.
It will train AFP personnel on command post and cyber defense exercises, the WESCOM said. Different exercise events are not only ongoing in the city, but also in Zambales, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija until September 26.
Meanwhile, Rear Adm. Adeluis Bordado, the commander of the AFP Education Training and Doctrine Command (AFPETDCOM), visited the city also Tuesday to check one of the sites of the ongoing exercise.
He was welcomed at Camp Artemio Ricarte in Barangay San Miguel by WESCOM commander Vice Adm. Rene Medina.
