Nine barangays in Puerto Princesa City have already availed of the Barangay Tanod Association (BATAS) Accident Insurance Card under the office of Rep. Gil Acosta Jr. (3rd district, Palawan).

On August 1, a launching was conducted in Barangays Langogan, Binduyan, Concepcion, Tanabag, San Rafael, Babuyan, Lucbuan, Maoyon, and Maryugon.

BATAS program coordinator Arlyn Escala explained that the insurance aims to provide financial assistance to barangay tanods who may get into accidents while on duty.

Escala said that the project is in coordination with Malayan Insurance.

Binduyan chief tanod, said.
