Another COVID-19 suspect patient, a 59-year-old male admitted at the Adventist Hospital Palawan (AHP), died late Wednesday, health officials reported.

The Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development (CHD) in MIMAROPA said the patient is also among those whose test results are pending.

“‘Yong namatay today ay 59-years-old male from Puerto Princesa. Admitted to sa AHP,” the DOH CHD said.

The patient was admitted at the Adventist Hospital Palawan (AHP) and was classified as a COVID-19 suspect case and swab sample specimens were taken.

City information officer Richard Ligad told Palawan News the patient was swabbed on April 19 and was a candidate for intubation upon his admission.

He said the patient’s body has been recommended for cremation, as part of health protocols.

“Inaayos lang natin ang cremation. Hinihintay lang natin ang ibang information,” he said.

Palawan has now recorded a total of seven deceased suspect COVID patients, including the 36-year-old male from Aborlan town and the 63-year-old female tourist from Manila who died in Culion, who later both tested negative; and the 61-year-old male local resident of Puerto Princesa City whose family refused testing.

The laboratory results for four suspect COVID patients, who already expired, are still pending, including the 64-year-old female from El Nido who died on April 15; a pregnant woman also from El Nido who died on April 19; a 63-years-old male resident of Puerto Princesa City, who died on April 21; and the recent death of a 59-years-old male resident of Puerto Princesa (April 22).
