Around 50 hotels and other accommodations in the city will participate in this year’s 2nd Hotel Expo that will be launched today by the Association of Accredited Tourist Accommodations of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Inc. (AATAPPP).

The expo which will be launched at 3:00 p.m. today, Saturday, at the SM City Puerto Princesa will showcase career offers, destinations, and exclusive accommodation deals.

AATAPPP president Bryan Dizon, who is also the secretary of the City Tourism Council (CTC) and owner of a bed and breakfast, said the main focus of the hotel expo is to introduce even the smallest accommodation player in the city.

“The main focus of establishing this expo is para makilala rin ‘yong other hotels, even the smallest players that we have in Puerto Princesa City at kung ano ang [mga] ma-o-offer ng iba pang member hotels natin,” said Dizon.

He said the expo will last until February 24 at the SM City Puerto Princesa Activity Center.

Dizon noted this is the first time for AATAPPP to spearhead a hotel expo, but many will experience it for the second time.

The first Hotel Expo in 2018 was solely initiated by the SM City Puerto Princesa, he said.

He said participating hotels and other types of accommodation will offer 20 to 30 percent discount for on-the-spot bookings.

“Apart from doing the expo, we will also be conducting talks. Ang target nito is for the locals, job seekers, students, students na mag-o-on-the-job training. They are all for free, anyone can attend. We also invited the participation of state universities and colleges here in Puerto Princesa,” he said.

He added the talks will be about personality development and skills expectations in the tourism industry.
