Some 24 bikers joined the “Padyakan Para sa Kalikasan” in support of the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation’s (RTNMC) celebration of the World Bicycle Day on June 3.
Environmental Compliance Officer Analyn Hasim said the activity was joined by the local bikers group RT Padyak composed mostly of company employees biking from townsite proper to Gadsan bridge for first stop then followed to mangrove area in RTN pier site.

Padyakan is the third biking activity organized by RTNMC following the Padyakan para sa Bakawan wave one and two in 2019.
Despite the current pandemic threat, Hasim said that the commitment to the environment must be maintained. She said that this activity also reminds everyone of how cycling helps to curb human carbon emission while boosting physical and mental health at the same time.

Hasim said that the company is also set to conduct other environmental-related activities such as plogging, tree planting, nature scavenger hunt, and coastal cleanup in celebration of the Philippine Environment Month.
