200 Tagbanua kids receive new slippers from SM Puerto Princesa

With smiles on their faces and a grateful heart, 200 young members of the Tagbanua tribe community in Sitio Bubusawin, Bgy. Napsan thankfully receive their new pairs of slippers from volunteers representing SM City Puerto Princesa on March 24.

In partnership with Life Care Foundation, SM City Puerto Princesa initiated the benevolent activity in line with its Customer Relations Service Barrio Community CSR and outreach program of SM Cares.

“Hindi ko muna po susuotin ang bagong tsinelas ko pauwi sa bahay namin kasi isang oras po ang lakad pero suutin ko po sya sa anniversary ng simbahan sa susunod na Linggo,” shared by Eron, 7 years old, Life Kids Bubusawin.

Eron needs to wake up by 5am daily so he can arrive to his school by 7am. His mother is a housewife and his stepfather is a seasonal fisherman. Their house is an hour away by walking from the church and school. Despite the distance, he has complete school attendance and never misses going to church. He is part of #LifeKids Bubusawin.

“Thank you so much SM Cares for the gifts you have given to the children of Bubusawin. The Lord bless you more and more SM Puerto Princesa Team,” said Heather Tejada Orias, community organizer of Life Care Foundation.

SM Cares, a division of SM Foundation, collaborates with communities and organizations that promote positive change. Its programs focus on people and the community, environmental sustainability, disaster resilience and green campaigns.
