A 19-year-old mall playlab employee died Thursday following a road accident in Barangay Sta. Lourdes on February 12.
Miexel Apdon Bardollos, who was originally from Brgy. Bucana, El Nido, died due to a serious head injury on February 13 after going into a coma in a hospital in the city, her sister Melissa Bardollos said Friday to Palawan News in a phone interview.
Melissa said the accident happened around 8:20 a.m. when Miexel took a back ride on the motorcycle of Hilbert Villanueva to go to work at Bounce and Play in Robinsons Place Palawan.
Melissa said while riding on the national road in Sta. Lourdes, Villanueva’s motorcycle was side-swept by a pickup vehicle allegedly being driven by German national Dr. Siegfried Fiester, who was with his wife Lerma.
Namatay siya kasi may head injury daw,” she said.
“Nagsampa na po kami ng kaso reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury,” Melissa said.
Melissa said they have not yet spoken to Villanueva as he is still in the hospital recuperating from broken bones due to the accident.
She said Miexel was their family’s breadwinner, helping earn money because their father also has an ailment.
Gina dela Cruz, a relative of the Bardollos family, said they are seeking justice for what happened to Miexel who was too young to die.
Taking to the social media, Dela Cruz said the Fiesters have to pay for what they had done to Miexel.
Sana karmahin kayo,” Dela Cruz said on her social media account.
In a separate interview, Dela Cruz said Miexel’s family needs financial help because it had been left with hospital bills amounting to P118,000.
She said the Fiesters want to give P50,000 so the Bardollos will withdraw the case, but the family refused.
Kesyo mukhang pera ang pamilya,” she said.
The City Police Station 1 which is investigating the case is yet to come out with the result.
