Around 115 households will benefit from the installation of level 2 water system in the indigenous community of Sitio Buladjong, Barangay Iwahig, Bataraza.
Community organizer Iskandar Sali said that the water system project is funded by the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC).
“Isa sa mga basic needs natin yong water kaya sila rin during planning last year, yan din ang kanilang priority kasi isa rin yan sa pangangailangan nila, syempre ang tubig very vital sa atin lalo na kung malinis ang tubig,” he said.
The water system was turned over on June 11 with a budget of 104, 980 pesos allocated from SDMP.
The installed water system is supported by the water source from Brgy. Sandoval.
He said that the installation of water system will help the residents of the community. Without the water system, residents have to go to distant communities to fetch water.
“Kasi yong 115 households ay medyo may kahirapan kumuha ng tubig so nag-put up sila ng water tank sa area para at least ay accessible doon sa community,” he said.
