Eleven athletes and their coaches will be participating in the Arafura Games 2019 in Darwin, Australia, which will be on April 27 to May 4.

Arafura Games is an inclusive multi-sport event where athletes with a disability will compete in the same program as able-bodied athletes.

Sports and games inspector Francis Nemenzo of the Provincial Sports Division (PSD) said the delegation is now in Manila to travel to Australia on Wednesday, April 24.

The team from Palawan will compete in athletics and boxing along with those from other provinces who will also represent the Philippines.

“’Yong mga ipapadala natin ay iyong mga athlete na nanalo ng gold, silver and bronze sa Brunei BIMP-EAGA noong December 2018,” said Nemenzo.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), on the other hand, will send athletes from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The biggest delegation will come from Davao City with players from Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Davao del Norte, General Santos, and Palawan.

Around 30 countries are expected to participate in the Arafura Games 2019, said Nemenzo.
