The city government of Puerto Princesa is open to any help from any government agency that would address the water crisis affecting its residents.
Mayor Luicilo Bayron said that with the current water situation in the city, “we are open to any help that is good and where the terms and conditions are in order.”
“The city government should not be blamed that because we are just one year and 10 months in office compared to the nearly 20 years of the past administration, “Bayron said.
During the inauguration of the water project last week in the town of Brooke’s Point, Palawan Governor Jose Chaves Alvarez said the provincial government is willing to give out a loan to help the water district.
“Sinuman sa dalawa ang manalo sa pagka mayor, ready ang Provincial Government na magpahiram ng 800 milyon para suportahan ang proyekto sa Montible- Lapu lapu River.” Alvarez said.
He said that Capitol to provide clean water to all of Palawan and even to Puerto Princesa.
This will help the tourism industry in the province, he pointed out.
The water project in the Montible- Lapu lapu River has not been started yet because of the city’s pending request before the Department Of Justice to utilize as source of its water supply.
