Volunteer group forms ‘task force’ against crimes, launches first summit in PPC

In accordance with the President’s objectives to fight crimes and illegal drugs in the country, a group of volunteers under the Office of the Solicitor General has launched a task force against different forms of crime that are known to plague the country. Dubbed as ‘Task Force Crusaders against Crimes, Illegal Drugs and Corruption’ or TFC, the group recently conducted its first national summit on Tuesday, September 27, where Founder Retired PNP General Romeo Maganto laid out the objectives and functions of the task force.

With a primary goal to assist authorities in fighting and fully eradicating illegal activities in the country, the TFC has been joined by almost 100 crusaders from all over Palawan. Most of the members are retirees from the AFP, PNP, NBI and PDEA and are reputably skilled and experienced in achieving the group’s goals. According to Maganto, the group exists to help the Philippine Government in ensuring peace and order all over the country. Maganto also added that one of the biggest problems left by the previous administration is criminality. “Yan ang isa sa mga problema nung nakaraang administrasyon, ang kriminalidad,” he said.

The Task Force will be working hand in hand with other law enforcement agencies and will be conducting reports related to crimes, illegal drugs, corruption and terrorism. Citing how unlawful the recent Davao bombing incident was and how alarmed the President had been because of the attack, Maganto said it is thus their goal to prevent another attack.
