Three dead, 3 injured in shooting incident in Puerto Princesa

Three people were killed while three others were injured after a shooting incident inside Dwins Videos and Restaurant, Junction 1, San Miguel, Puerto Princesa City at around 03:20AM today, August 5. Julius Esponilla (19 y/o), Amos Bongay Jr and Hener Lozada (18 y/o) were all declared dead-on-arrival at Palawan Adventist Hospital after suffering from gunshot wounds. Esponilla is a resident of Barangay San Miguel while Bongay and Lozada were reportedly from Narra. The three wounded were identified as Norlan Lozada (26 y/o) of Tiniguiban, Rosalito Sugcang (27 y/o) of Maningning and Noli Bundal (27 y/o) of Calategas, Narra; they are currently under medical attention in the said hospital.

Based on police blotter entry 28146 at Mendoza Police Station, the victims and the suspects were drinking at separate tables in the said establishment when the suspects reportedly grew irate with the victims’ noises and opened fire at them.

Operatives recovered from the crime scene seven empty shells and a slug of 9 mm.

City Police Office personnel conducted manhunt operations which resulted to “arrest” of six suspects for the incident, which included Andrew Cunanan, John Vermegel Acosta Apyao, Virgo Azares, Relyard Quijano, Arnel Vendido and Jeric Binasbas.  As of this writing, authorities are conducting investigation to determine who is the gunman among the said suspects.
