TESDA- Puerto Princesa School of Arts and Trades (PPSAT) is celebrating its 22nd founding anniversary this year on March 1 to 3 with the theme “Akmang pagsasanay tungo sa tagumpay”. This year’s celebration was kicked off in an official ceremony attended by TESDA Regional Director Carlos C. Flores, Provincial Director Renato Pantaleon and Alfredo ‘Amor’ Abueg Jr., who is considered as the “father of PPSAT”.
The three day-celebration includes several activities such as a quiz bee, job fair, Zumba classes and parlor games. Exhibits showcasing products and creations from food processing, bread and pastry, food and beverage services are also included. Showcase of skills are also provided, such as massage therapy, CSS (PC reformatting and installation of apps), EIM (innovative products) and smaw (welded products).
According to Regional Director Flores and Provincial Director Pantaleon, they are proposing additional National Certificate (NC) III and IV courses in the school, especially on Agri-Fishery which will start within this year.
In the ceremony that officially opened the celebration, Abueg expressed his honor of being one of the guests and for being recognized as the author of RA 7928, the law that officially paved the way to the establishment of the said school.
Through its representatives, TESDA forwarded its appreciation to the effort of the school in the past years. The government body said it looks forward to the extension of the school into municipalities in Palawan.
