Street dwellers occupy Manalo waiting shed

Street dwellers are vandalizing a waiting shed in Manalo street.

A Church group has recently complained to authorities about the occupation by street dwellers of a public waiting shed fronting their chapel along Manalo Street, claiming that the area had been vandalized by a group of homeless individuals.

Pastor Gospel Doromal of the Puerto Princesa Fundamental Baptist Church claimed that six individuals have been using the waiting shed as their dwelling area and have been harassing churchgoers and passers-by.

“What is alarming is they have been vandalizing, burning garbage and displaying aggressive behavior against members of their church.

Doromal said they have reported the problem to the barangay council and the Mendoza police office but no action has been done by authorities to clear the waiting shed.0

“Nilapitan ko sila. Sabi ko wag nang guluhin ‘yung mga nagsisimba dito. Kasi sabi ko hindi na maganda. We allowed you kasi sabi ni kapitan hindi naman daw nananakit. Pero kapag ganyan ang ginagawa nyo, iba na ‘yan,” Doromal said.

“Napuntahan namin si kapitan, ‘yung  mga police. Nagtuturuan sila eh. Sabi ni kap, sa pulis. Sabi ng pulis, kay kap,” he added.

Palawan News tried to get a statement from Barangay captain Oliver Reynoso of Barangay Masipag but the latter did not respond.
