Palawan is experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to Tropical Storm Urduja, the state-run weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said TS Urduja is bringing scattered light to heavy rains that might cause possible flashfloods and landslides in the province’s hazard-prone areas.
Small fishing vessels are advised to take extra caution due to moderate to occasionally rough seas.
In its 2 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said TS Urduja’s eye was last seen 1 p.m. at 230 kilometers of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
Moving northwest at 5 kph, Urduja packs a maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
By Monday morning, December 18, the tropical storm is plotted to be 65 km north of Cuyo town and 120 km north of Puerto Princesa City on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, both the city and provincial disaster risk reduction and management offices are on standby to respond to any untoward incidents that TS Urduja may cause.
