Police investigators are facing a blank wall in identifying the suspects in the shooting of lawyer Hermie Aban on Tuesday, admitting that their initial investigation has yielded no results.
“Yung cell phone kasi na ti-nurn over sa amin, wala din kaming nakuha lead. Yung CCTV, hindi rin naman nakita mukha ng suspect dahil naka-helmet,” Police Inspector Ray Aron Elona told Palawan News.
The City Philippine National Police has formed Special Investigation Task Group Aban to coordinate their investigation.
Aban, a prominent lawyer who has handled locally prominent cases defending drug suspects and who had served as counsel to the City government in its own drugs campaign, was shot by a still unidentified motorcycle riding gunman near his residence in Barangay Bancao-Bancao.
Aban died while undergoing treatment from multiple bullet wounds at the Cooperative Hospital.
Elona said they are interviewing several witnesses who might be able to provide crucial information to solving the crime.
“Marami na din kami nakunan statement, witness, positive naman tayo na may patutunguhan tong investigation,” he said.
