The Puerto Princesa Sangguniang Panlungsod passed a resolution authorizing Mayor Lucilo Bayron to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Twinkle Rodolfo, of USAID, said Puerto Princesa is one of six cities chosen to be part of its Cities Development Initiative.

The project will renovate the heritage sites in the province and city particularly Plaza Cuartel, Eulalia Park, Rizal Park, Governor’s Residence, Mendoza Park, Palawan Museum, Heritage Center and few native houses which are deemed to have traces of the past.

The SP welcomed the project as this will include our city in the places which have hidden contributions to the Philippine history.

The project is part of 2011-2016 National Tourism Development that aims to disseminate a history of a specific place to become a part of tourism
