The Department of Energy is eyeing solar and hydro power plants as the answer to the current power crisis plaguing Palawan.
Energy Secretary. Jericho Petilla said they have long monitored the power problem in the province.
The DOE will focus on monitoring the power providers which has an agreement with the Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO), he said.
We cannot take over or dip our fingers into the cooperative because they are under the jurisdiction of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Petilla said.
Petilla will visit Palawan on July 14 to talk with PALECO officials and various stakeholders to find a solution on the power crisis that has affected the province especially its tourism industry.
