The provincial board has approved a resolution requesting the Department of Education-MIMAROPA to establish an academic track for senior high at the Ipilan National High School in Brooke’s Point.
The resolution was in support of Barangay Ipilan’s similar push, according to Board Member Sharon Abiog-Onda.
Onda said the Ipilan National High School is the second largest school in the town and located 12 kilometers away from the only nearest existing senior high facility.
“This is a request of Ipilan. They very much wanted to host a senior high school that will cater to all neighboring barangays,” Onda said.
The Ipilan National High School has 501 enrolled students, 19 teachers and two hectares of buildable space to accommodate the establishment of the senior high school, according to Onda.
A resolution was directed to DepEd Regional Director Dr. Gilbert Sadsad.
