Most schools all over the province of Palawan opened June 4, Monday, without any major issues according to the city and provincial Department of Education (DepEd).
Roseline P. Vicente, officer-in-charge assistant schools division superintendent, told Palawan News Monday the province encountered only some minor problems during the first day of classes. Overall, she said the teachers were well-prepared and have already started actual classes.
Vicente said the main challenge the teachers encountered was the shortage of classrooms and chairs to accommodate their students, but this was addressed during the Brigada Eskwela activities last week.
“During the Brigada Eskwela, nag-devise sila in such a way na kahit mga bangko o bangkito, makagawa ng paraan para may maupuan lang,” Vicente said.
She added that the monitoring team from the regional office along with the supervisors from the provincial DepEd gave them a positive feedback.
