A group of motorcycle riders is organizing a road trip for its members to bring goods and donations to poor households in the remote barangay of Napsan on the city’s west coast.
The group calling itself Riders for a Cause (RFAC) said they will conduct the activity on September 23, adding it will be open to all motorcycle enthusiasts in the city who are willing to join.
Joddy Malabayabas of the RFAC said that their group is a non-government organization bonded by a common interest in going out on road trips to promote safe riding and reaching out to communities that are in need.
“Gusto namin ipunin lahat ng motorista na mahilig mag road trip para magkaroon ng community ride at tumulong na rin,” said Malabayabas.
Ali Porlucas, adviser of the RFAC said that the group does not only want to reach out for community service but also wants to empower responsible motorists.
“Maganda rin na mapatunayan na hindi ka lang isang motorista, willing ka rin tumulong,” said Porlucas.
He said that before the ride, they discuss and promote safe riding, which requires that all motorists should wear gears and helmet, reminding them of their responsibility as a motorist.
The group said interested riders may join them at the assembly point at the gasoline station in Junction 2,7AM on September 23. All riders, they added, are required to wear prescribed helmets and safety gear.
