A court of Kuwait has issued a directive that shall allow the remains of an Overseas Filipino worker from Palawan to come home once forensic examination has been completed.
The Palaweño OFW who apparently committed suicide while he was in prison in Kuwait is Rosniel Monteng from Brooke’s Point.
According to Assistant Secretary Charles Jose of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the forensic examination is ongoing and this is expected to be finished by next week
The prosecution court in Kuwait has also allowed a recorded CCTV footage to be viewed and this is being studied closely by Philippine Embassy officials as well as Monteng’s relatives who are also residing in Kuwait.
Assistant Secretary Charles Jose has given his assurance that the government will provide assistance in bringing home the remains of Rosniel Monteng.
Rosniel’s mother Jundah Hendy continues to appeal to the government to find justice for her son because she does not believe that he chose to end his life in his prison cell last month.
