The Provincial Board approved on Tuesday a resolution urging the local government to prioritize the repair, rehabilitation and concreting of the provincial roads leading to Caruray, Port Barton and Barangay Alimanguan in San Vicente.
Board Member Cherry Pie Acosta, the main author of the resolution, pointed out the numerous complaints she had received from local residents about the perpetual bad condition of the roads and its negative impact on the local agricultural economy.
“Hanggang ngayon maraming nagrereklamo na sira ang ating kalsada,” she said, noting that the roads in question are part of the major transport network for tourism in northern Palawan.
“Sana ay mabigyan agad ng aksyon. Let’s make it a showcase dahil ngayon ay tourist destination na itong bayan ng San Vicente,” Acosta said.
