The Puerto Princesa City Department of Education (DepEd) will host the 2018 Regional Brigada Eskwela Kick-off Ceremony on Friday.
City DepEd education program specialist Cristina C. Ferriol told Palawan News the kick-off ceremony will start with a caravan at 5:30 a.m. Friday from Puerto Princesa Sports Complex going to Palawan National School which is the program venue.
More than 500 teachers both from elementary and secondary are expected to join the caravan, including the parents representatives of government and private entities.
Senior officials from DepEd National and Regional Offices are also expected to attend the activity.
“Sa [buong] MIMAROPA Region dito ang regional kick-off, siguro dahil maganda nga ang Puerto Princesa at tayo ‘yong nanalo noong nakaraang taon sa dalawang category, elementary and secondary. National awardee tayo sa Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing Mega Schools, ang Palawan National School at ang Pilot Elementary School,” Ferriol said.
She said the goal of the kick-off ceremony is to engage the community in the one-week preparation for the opening of the school year.
“I am expecting na lalong titibay ang awareness ng mga taga-Puerto Princesa City at taga-Palawan na tumulong sa ating mga schools para maihanda ngayong darating na opening ng klase,” DepEd MIMAROPA regional director officer-in-charge Gilberto T. Sadsad said.
