Six Palawan State University law graduates have passed the November 2017 bar exam. The 2017 bar result was released by the Supreme Court on April 26.
The PSU Law passers were Atty. Arlando Arlando, Atty. Jephraim Baguyo, Atty. Rizza Mae Borja, Atty. John Mark Caralipio, Atty. Christopher Jossel Molato, and Atty. Margarita Concepcion Nalus.
PSU acting president Marissa Pontillas said that they are not yet sure about the exact number of PSU takers as some of their graduates could have applied directly for the exam.
“Meron kasing instances na minsan nag a-apply sila directly at hindi alam ng law school. Kaya wala pa kaming definite numbers kung ilan talaga ang takers,” she said.
Pontillas added that this year’s performance of PSU School of Law is still a good one considering the low passing rate in the national level which is 25.55 percent.
PSU posted a 100 percent passing rate last year. The national passing rate for that year was 59.06 percent, the highest in 30 years.
“To me, when we compare it to the national passing rate, I would say they did well,” she said.
A total of 1,724 examinees passed, out of the 6,748 who took the exams held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in November 2017. The passing grade this year was 75 percent.
