In today’s Cuyuno session of the Palawan Provincial Board, the legislative body has approved the Php 2.3B local expenditure program of the province of Palawan for 2017.
Compared to 2016, the 2017 budget has increased by 8.6% or by around Php250M, according to Board Member Leoncio Ola, Chairman of the Appropriation’s Committee, during his report prior to final approval.
It can be recalled that the aid to barangays has been “terminated” by the provincial government since 2014. Ola said the provincial government must approve first the barangay projects to which the “aid” must be allocated.
Ola did not specify budget allocations per department or per program.
