Provincial government bags seal of good local governance anew

Provincial government plans to help PAGASA during natural weather disturbances

In a recently held ceremony at Hotel Sofitel in Manila, the Provincial Government of Palawan (PGP), through Governor Jose Chaves Alvarez, received for the second straight year the Seal of Good Local Governance from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The recognition was attributed to the full compliance of the provincial government to the three core components of good local governance namely, financial administration, social protection, and disaster preparedness.

Alvarez has made it clear, in a previous statement before the workforce of the provincial government, that his administration will institute corruption-free and clean governance and will exercise due diligence and prudence in its transactions particularly in the utilization of funds from the provincial coffers. The sound fiscal management continues and is now integrated in the “lifestyle” of the provincial government officials and employees.

DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno handed over the award to Alvarez.
