“The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered… When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes.” Genesis 39:2-4
Whatever task or job our hands find to do, whether we are boss or employee, master or servant, if the Lord is with us, then we will always prosper.
It is not only stature or wealth we are talking about here, because fame and money are not the only bases of success, but more of favor and good relationships with God and others.
What I have acknowledged here is the reality that God can prosper us wherever we are. Joseph was a sold slave. His father Jacob was coined a “deceiver” before he became a changed man when he encountered God, so that he became the receiver and keeper of the covenant passed on from his patriarchs Abraham and Isaac. A lot of godly characters in the Bible were ordinary people who had faith in an extraordinary God. Most of them did not even die as “leaders” but more of suffering servants. Even our godly weaknesses and sufferings can be equivalent to prosperity as long as the Lord is with us and we are doing His will.
For the Lord does not look at our outward performance or titles. He is after the conditions of our hearts.
When we live with the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we succeed in whatever we endeavor. Likewise, even the people around us will be similarly blessed. Plus, we have peace and satisfaction.
Prosperity comes from connection—the right connection with God.
