For the first time, a Palawan- wide summit was conducted recently.
Led by provincial police director Senior Supt.Benjamin Acorda Jr., it gathered members of the local Police Advisory Council (PAC) from the province’ 23 towns.
“Hindi lang mahalaga kundi napakahalaga ng tungkulin ng advisory council na ang bumubuo ay galing mula sa mga sektor na gumaganap sa lipunan na siyang magsisilbing tulay para mailapit ang pulisya sa komunidad at maibalik o mapanatili ang tiwala nito”Acorda said.
Supt. Necerato Sabando, provincial police deputy director for administration and chief of the Provincial Police Strategy Management Unit, said the PAC is composed business sector, senior citizen, religious sector, legal, media and academe.
“We want reform in the police service,” Acorda said.
Palawan is the first province in the MIMAROPA region to conduct a summit of the PAC and is in line with the PNP ‘s campaign of P.A.T.R.O.L Plan 2030.
PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. (Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and upholding of the Rule-Of-Law) Plan 2030 is the PNP’s change agenda which is anchored on the principle of systems and procedures. It is a reform program from 2014 to 2030.
The PAC is envisioned to be a constructive critic of the local force as it will come stakeholders.
