Board Member Sharon Onda has asked the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) to put up a testing center for Philippine National Police (PNP) examinees in Palawan separate from its regional testing center currently based in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Onda said a testing center based in province will encourage more PNP applicants and lessen the expenses of those who need to take the police examination in Mindoro.
“Ang Palawan lang kasi ang nahihiwalay sa MIMAROPA, kaya gusto natin na magkaroon ng another testing center dito. Mas mababawasan ang expenses ng mga applicants kung dito ang exams,” Onda told Palawan News on Monday.
Once a testing center is established in Palawan, Onda said she expects more Palaweño applicants to sign up for training.
“Mas marami ang magiging applicants, kasi sabi mismo sa region ay marami talaga ang applicants from Palawan and Puerto Princesa City,” Onda said.
The NAPOLCOM holds two sets of examinations twice a year, one for the promotional (who are already in the service) and another for those who want to join the PNP.
