PH Air Force chopper crash-landed in Sabang, Puerto Princesa

Philippine Air Force’s SOKOL aircraft number 926 crash-landed in Puerto princesa Tuesday, November 8.

Philippine Air Force’s SOKOL aircraft number 926, while conducting an aerial survey in preparation for the ASEAN’s Chief Justices Round Table on Environment, crash landed at Sitio Sabang, Barangay Cabayugan, Puerto Princesa, Palawan Tuesday, November 8, at around 3:00 p.m.

According to PAF’s report, the chopper’s thirteen (13) passengers were airlifted from the crash site at about 4:14 p.m. and were immediately brought to Camp General Artemio Station Hospital located in Barangay San Miguel, Puerto Princesa City for further physical check-up. Co-pilot Major Mechael Yraola and PCSupt Nestor Bergonia, Deputy Director for Operations and the Head Secretariat of the Committee on Security, Peace and Order, Emergency Preparedness and Response, sustained minor injuries; the rest of the passengers were reportedly unharmed.

“Ayon sa report ng Airforce, nagkaroon po ng problema sa elise nila…sa elise po nanggaling yung problema, said Police Supt Imelda Tolentino, Information Officer of Task Group Palawan for the ASEAN Chief Justices Conference Event via phone interview.

The other passengers include the following: Acting Director for Operations and the concurrent Deputy Commander, ASTF 2017, PCSupt Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, PCSUPT Wilben Mayor, Regional Director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, PCSUPT Amador Corpus, Secretary to the Directorial Staff and the concurrent Commander of Joint Task Group for Peace Order; PSSUPT Renato Angara, Deputy Regional Director for Administration and the concurrent sub Task Group Chairman for Security, PSUPT Richard Bud-ang Budget and Fiscal Officer of the Directorate for Operations; PSINSP Rocky John Dalida , PSINSP Ronie Simpao, COL Jesus Marciano Guevara, PAF, Sgt Dunhill Guanzon and AIC Mark Phol Masangkay.

The said aerial survey was piloted by 1Lt Gino Solano.
