Police Senior Inspector Arnel Bagona told Palawan News in an interview that the town of Dumaran currently has no listed individual in its illegal drug watch, and merely has records for surrenderees.
“Sa ngayon, wala talaga maliban doon sa 17 na surrenderees. More on sa prevention kami nakatutok ngayon,” Bagona said.
Bagona further said that out of the 16 barangays in the municipality, eight were declared as “cleared” in the municipal level, namely Calasag, Catep, Bacao, San Juan, Sto. Tomas, Danleg, Culasian and Bohol. These barangays remain subject for verification by higher authorities, however.
Meanwhile, the chief of police assured that surrenderees are properly monitored.
“Hindi lang zumba-zumba, they are doing community works, maglinis, ganyan,” Bagona said
Bagona is optimistic that despite having a long way to go, the town of Dumaran will be able to achieve a drug-free status.
